February 2023

Winter came in like a lamb, will it go out like a lion?

December came and went with little to no snow accumulation, and a late start in January. Once our trails were ready to open there was no stopping the traffic as folks were very eager to get out. Our rockstar volunteers here at Linneus Sno Sports have had the kitchens open on weekends since Jan. 14th and those luncheons continue to be a hit. We invite anybody traveling through our area whether by car or sled to stop in on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM to see what’s cooking on the grill.

The board meets on the second Thursday of the month at 7pm from September-May and members are encouraged to come sit in. A winter storm prevented the board from being able to meet at our usual time in January, but our February meeting had a great turn out. We were able to discuss the progress we've made with trails this year and our upcoming annual poker run.

The Poker Run will be held this year on Sunday, February 26th from 9am-4pm. We’ve got a 75 mile loop ready to ride and can’t wait to see everyone who comes to participate. We’ve got 4 different meal options, prizes for best and worst poker hands, 50/50 raffle and more planned for you, so make sure you’re there!

We’re thankful for the support we’ve received, despite the late snow this year, and are proud to share that we’re around 140 memberships so far this season. If any of our members are looking to become more active within the club they can stop by the clubhouse and check the yearly officer positions that will be coming up for vote. Every year we vote for our President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. This year we will be looking especially for members to fill secretary and treasurer positions. If you have any questions about these roles feel free to reach out to a current officer or board member.

Need some mid-week fun? Try Wednesday night bingo! A homecooked meal and the chance to win some money, sounds like a good night to me! Early bird starts at 6:30 and regular games at 7pm. The better the crowd = the bigger the payout so bring your friends!

Until next time, thank you for visiting Linneus Sno Sports, ride safe, stay to the right of the trail and have fun!
